Yong Music Studio Policy

Below are the policies that guide the operation of the studio.

Considerable time, energy, and attention are dedicated to the long-term growth of each student.

To maintain consistent, high-quality lessons and ensure that every student receives the care and focus they deserve, the following guidelines are in place.

Tuition and Fees

  1. Tuition is charged at a flat monthly rate. Most months include four (4) or five (5) lessons, with some months offering only three (3) lessons due to major holidays.
  2. Autopay may be set up at a date of your convenience via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
  3. Each student is assigned a reserved weekly time slot. Their spot will remain on the schedule until notice of discontinuation is provided. Please notify the studio at least four weeks prior to ending lessons.
  4. Tuition applies to all reserved lesson times regardless of attendance, absence, or cancellation. Missed lessons cannot be refunded or credited toward future months.
  5. The flat monthly rate is in effect from September 1 through June 30. In the months of July and August, with the understanding of the amount of family trips that normally takes place, lessons are calculated on a per-lesson basis.
  6. Tuition rates are reviewed and adjusted annually to reflect inflation.

Missed Lessons and Make-up Lessons

  1. A lesson is considered missed if the student fails to arrive within the first 10 minutes of the scheduled time. No make-up lesson will be offered for no-shows. If arrival is delayed beyond 10 minutes, the remaining time will still be used for the lesson.
  2. Events such as school trips, birthday parties, sleepovers, sports games, short vacations, and other similar activities overlapping with lesson times are treated as missed lessons.
  3. For these cases, an asynchronous lesson will be provided: the student will submit video recordings of their playing, and the teacher will respond with feedback, comments, and suggestions for improvement for the week’s practice.
  4. If a student is unwell but able to participate, the lesson will take place virtually. If the student is too sick to attend, an asynchronous lesson will be assigned instead.
  5. Please give at least 2 days’ notice for planned absences or notify by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the lesson in the case of illness.
  6. On the rare occasion the teacher must cancel a lesson, a refund will be issued.
